Nicola's first botting was in 2008 and therefore Santoccio winery is definetely a new entry int the wine marlet.

WINERY. Santoccio single Estate vineyard, is located in Santoccio (Fumane), one of the 5 villages in the Valpolicella Classica area, Total property is about 3 hectars cultivated directly by Nicola Ferrari. Monte Santoccio is located on rolling hills which give a special quality to the wines;  total production is around 7,000 bts.

With great respect of the environment, vines are gently cultivated and also the winemaking procedures are focused on the respect of the traditional methods.

WINES. Monte Santoccio production respects the tradition of the Valpolicella Appellations: one Valpolicella, one Amarone and one Recioto. Valpolicella Classico Superiore 2007 (5,000 bt;), obtained with the Ripasso method, is a the top of the Valpolicella Superiore category. Corvina grape plays a key role in all the wines produced by Monte Santoccio. Corvinone and Rondinella, together with a little hint of Molinara and Sangiovese (a marginal but frequently used grape variety in the area), play also a strategic role in the production of quality wines.

Amarone della Valpolicella Classico 2006 (1,500 bt) is mainly made with Corvina and Corvinone and a small percentage of Rondinella, Molinara, Cabernet, Merlot and Sangiovese completes the blend. This wine is a top tier Amarone, full bodied, silky, with soft tannins and exceptional persistence.

Recioto della Valpolicella Classico 2008 (1,500 bt) is a superb wine that complete the range of Monte Santoccio wines. Recioto is big, silky and fat with exceptional freshness at the end, which gives it a perfect balance.
